At MetaIntegral we’re taking multidisciplinary thinking to a whole new level. We took five core elements of Integral Theory—polarities, quadrants, levels/lines, states, and types—and did a meta-analysis of each of them to discover the meta-principles that govern them. Then we developed a systematic way called MetaDynamics to apply these powerful conceptual lenses to complex problems of leadership and organizational life. Leaders and organizations will increasingly flock to metaintegrative frameworks like MetaDynamics. Why? Because integrative thinking is a critical skill for solving complex problems in an interconnected world, and you can’t do integrative thinking without a metaintegrativeframework—at least not very well! MetaDynamics enables you to obtain detailed, multi-layered integral analysis of your projects and intiatives to identify key leverage points for intervention and opportunity.
Advancing Integral Theory
Join Sean Esbjörn-Hargens PhD – the integral designer behind MetaDynamics for a 5-day in-person advanced seminar in integral thinking where you will explore the frothy edge of advanced integral theory and its embodied application. We will be using the MetaDynamics suite of five distinct meta-lenses (see our overview page) to explore key meta-principles of integral thinking and its application. Each day will focus on a different meta-lens (e.g., Polarity Dynamics) invovle: a 2-hour lecture, meditations and inquiry to explore each MetaDynamic, and sessions of embodied applicaiton where you can apply the key principles to your own projects and intiatives with the support of other participants.

How Will I learn?
Each day of the five-day seminar will be structured in a similar way. Our intention is to enable the spaces and resources for people to learn as much as they want in a way that matches their prefered learning style. Our learning environment will include the following components:
Participate in a daily 2-hour “fire hose” lecture from Sean sharing with you how and why he developed each meta-lens in the MetaDynamics suite.
Enage the group in lively and reflective conversations around each meta-lense and their application. Learn from others and share your own wisdom.
Meditation, somatic movement, and small group inquiry sessions will provide a strong experiential basis for exploring these advanced concepts.
Collaborate and enage others in action learning groups in the application of various integral meta-principles to your own projects.
Participants will be given exclusive access to a ton of handbook materials, diagrams, and images that have not been made available before.

In 2011 he founded MetaIntegral a social enterprise network that supports the embodied application of integral principles by change leaders around the world. Sean’s passion lies at the intersection of design, integral theory, and embodiment. He has published and edited numerous articles, chapters, and books. His most recent book is Metatheory for the Twenty-first Century.
